Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Research Fellowship

Background

This research fellowship is designed to provide the fellow with an intensive year of clinical research production. It is akin to a postdoctoral program. It is an ideal program for a candidate interested in an academic career in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, who wishes to bolster their experience in research. The University of Florida Department of Otolaryngology welcomes applicants to our fellowship in Gainesville, Florida.

Program Overview

The fellow will work closely with a team of clinicians, statisticians and PhD researchers to plan, develop and implement numerous clinical research projects. Particular areas of focus include:

  1. Quality Outcomes
  2. Functional Outcomes
  3. Survival Analysis
  4. Surgical Techniques
  5. Health Disparities
  6. 3D Modelling and Virtual Surgical Planning

The goal will be for the fellow to present and publish their work as much as possible during the year. We aim for the fellow to present at 2 meeting and graduate with 5-10+ publications.

Eligibility

  1. Applicant must be a graduate (or eligible to graduate) from a medical or osteopathic medical school.
  2. Applicant must have some experience with research
  3. Applicant must be self-motivated and driven to produce
